  9.    The votes are in! We have tabulated all the votes in which we were
  10.    voting on whether to (1) Have a rewrite of Collie in Turbo for
  11.    October and push back Perspective to Spring or (2) Keep writing
  12.    Perspective for Christmas. I did not see as many votes cast as I
  13.    would have liked, but for those of you who didn't vote, this
  14.    decision is FINAL and will stand.

  16.    The votes have determined that there will be (drumroll, please)
  17.    a TURBO REWRITE of COLLIE to be out sometime NEAR October (no
  18.    release promises as of yet).

  20.    ATTENTION--------VERY IMPORTANT

  23.    If you wish to see an enhancement, addition, fix, or any other
  24.    kind of change to COLLIE 2.0, we need to have your comments
  25.    NOW! Not a month before the release! Please send them like this:

  27.    You may want to have area boards submit suggestions to ONE main
  28.    board and have him compile them and upload them to an ALPHA or
  29.    BETA board. All files must end up at 800/1, ON THE BRINK.

  31.    Best ways to send your suggestions (from best to worst):
  32.    1 -- A file to ON THE BRINK
  33.    2 -- A message in COLLIE/PERSPECTIVE suggestions area at ON THE BRINK
  34.    3 -- A comment at ON THE BRINK
  35.    4 -- A file to your nearest ALPHA/BETA board
  36.    5 -- A netmail message to ON THE BRINK
  37.    6 -- Phone call

  39.    NOTE: Make sure your file is labelled with your name and if available,
  40.    the name and net/node number of your COLLIE BBS! Write down the name
  41.    and number of your bbs if you are not in the collie network! If you
  42.    are sending several files at once, please clearly separate the suggestions
  43.    from different users and sysops. This will make it easier on us to check
  44.    for duplications, etc.

  46.    As you can see, directly sending your info to OTB is the best way.
  47.    We would like your files/messages in by Mid-September at the latest.
  48.    We need time to organize and then implement them. We have decided
  49.    not to use all the 'best' ideas with Collie, but rather 'save' them
  50.    for Perspective. Although many will be used as well.

  52.    MAJOR objectives that WILL be reached with COLLIE 2.0:

  54.    -- 100% Fido compatibility with Netmail/File Attached
  55.    -- Telink, Ymodem, and MAYBE Kermit will be supported (suggestions?)
  56.    -- Message bases can be turned 'off/on' so when a user chooses
  57.       [A]ll boards, only the ON boards will be shown
  58.    -- ONLINE programs will, of course, become fully functional

  62.    You are responsible for relaying any files your receive from
  63.    sysops/users on suggestions for COLLIE 2.0 to my board. Please
  64.    do so ASAP! Thank you!

  67.    The DEVELOPMENT team members have been talking about our plans for
  68.    COLLIE 2.0 for some time and we expect to have an excellent BBS system
  69.    in due time. Then, of course comes Perspective which will be
  70.    something to see! Let's work together on this! Thank you!
